Afrinpost – Special
On Wednesday 08/19/2020, armed men of Al-Nukhbah/ The Elite Army militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood kidnapped a young Kurdish girl from her home, Salwa Ahmed Shasho / 14 years old, in front of her house in Al-Vellat street in the center of Afrin and took her to its headquarters in the village of Amara of Ma’batli district.
Salwa Ahmed Shasho is from the village of Dargireh / Dar Al Kabeer in Mobata / Ma’batli in the countryside of the occupied Afrin region in northern Syria.
The “Afrinpost” correspondent explained that the gunmen deliberately disconnected the electricity from the Kurdish family’s house, and when the girl went down to switch the electricity on at the entrance to their residential building, they kidnapped her, but the neighbors saw them and informed the “Military Police” militia, indicating that the operation was planned by the militants and it was done in coordination with the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia, which occupies that sector of the city center.
The reporter added that the kidnapping was carried out by a “pickup” truck, and then it was transported by a “Santa Fe” car to the village of Amara, noting that there are six barriers between Afrin and the village of Amara / Ma’batli, including two checkpoints of the Turkish intelligence.
According to the information obtained by “Afrinpost”, the girl’s family filed a complaint with the “Military Police” militia and provided them with information. The militia then moved to the village of Amara and managed to know the place that the girl was kept in, where the gunmen were hiding her in a house in the village, and she was released within 24 hours and returned to her family, and the militia also arrested more than 10 militants involved in the kidnapping.
On the same day, the “Military Police” militia raided the headquarters of the “Al-Nukhbah Army” militia in the village of Meydanki / Sharan district, and they found another kidnapped woman (from the settlers) was kept in the militia’s headquarters, but it is not known yet if she was kidnapped on the same day or at another time.
Meanwhile, a source close to the kidnapped Kurdish girl revealed to Afrinpost correspondent that after the return of “Salwa” to her home in the city, she was in a very bad psychological state and was hallucinating, saying “I do not want to go to Libya,” indicating that the kidnappers were planning to send the Kurdish girl to Libya to sell her to Qatari merchants as a “sexual slave”, as ISIS used to do with the Yazidi Kurdish kidnapped women in Iraq and Syria.
While the fate of 9 Kurdish women, whose place of abduction was revealed inside the headquarters of “Al-Hamzeh Squad” militia after the outbreak of clashes between them and settlers of Al-Ghouta at the end of May 2020, is still unknown, while it was reported that Turkish intelligence received the file of the nine abductees and transferred them to the Turkish territory.
