Afrinpost – Special
After the militia of “Sultan Suleiman Shah” militia known as “Al Amshaat” looted 6 and a half million Syrian pounds, and the harvest of grapes, olives, and nuts belonging to them, in the area of “Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid”, their parents (father and mother) died of grief, so that the two sisters live alone in their house under the mercy of the militants, where they pay the militia 15,000 Syrian pounds a month, in order to protect themselves from them.
The Afrinpost reporter cited a Kurdish woman’s speech from “Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid”, during which she explained their suffering in light of the occupation of the “Amshat” militia in the “Shieh” district.
The lady pointed to this, saying: “We cannot get out of Shieh, because the militia takes money from both outside and inside, generous people send us money from abroad, but it reaches us with difficulty, because of the militia’s practices in this particular area.”
She added: “My mother passed away a year ago, and my father nearly six months ago died of grief because the militia looted the olive, grape and walnut season that belongs to us, which is our source of livelihood, and now my sister and I live alone in our house at the mercy of the militia.”
“We pay 15,000 a month to the militia, to protect us from themselves. In addition, if we want to go to our garden or vineyard, we must pay the royalty to the militia barrier to allow us to cross, so everything is here with money.”
Kurdish women in the Afrin region occupied by the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood are suffering from difficult conditions, as many of them were kidnapped, and despite the militia’s exposure, such as the “Hamza Squad” during the fighting with settlers in Afrin center, at the end of last May, international actors such as the United States, Russia and the European Union remained silent, in a new stigma that will always chase them all.
