Afrinpost – Special

Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, who call themselves the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”, continue to use kidnapping and arrest as a means of blackmail, pressure and restrictions on the remaining Kurdish indigenous population in the occupied Afrin region, with the aim of displacing them from their homes for the benefit of settlers loyal to them.

In the context, on Sunday, 7th of June, the Turkish occupation militias kidnapped a Kurdish family from their home in the Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood of the occupied center of Afrin, according to the “Afrinpost” reporter.

The reporter stated that the occupation militias stormed the house of the Kurdish citizen “Othman Majeed Na’san”, and kidnapped him along with three of his sons and the wife of one of them, and took them to an unknown destination.

The correspondent pointed out that the Kurdish family are from the people of the village of “Ruta / Rotanli”, which belongs to the “Mobata / Ma’batli” district, but they have lived in Afrin center for a long time.

Daily arrests of families are repeated on the pretext of dealing with the People’s Protection Units and former autonomous-administration, with the aim of blackmailing families and demanding them to pay large sums of money in exchange for the release of their relatives.
