Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, who are known as the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”, and under the direct supervision of the Turkish occupation intelligence, continue impoverish the remaining indigenous Kurdish population in the occupied Afrin region, by imposing a set of royalties and practices that lead to displace them for the benefit of the settlers loyal to them.
In this context, the reporter of the “Afrinpost” in the center of the “Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid” district, said that the militia “Sultan Suleiman Shah” known as “Amshahat” threatened to expel a Kurdish elderly woman from her house in a village belonging to the district, in the case of the refusal of her son residing in the city of Afrin paying $ 2,000.
The reporter confirmed that the militia communicated with the son of the Kurdish elderly woman ( S.A.H), who resides in the city of Afrin and works in one of the service departments, and asked him to send an amount of two thousand dollars, and if he refuses to do so, she will be expelled from her home, Where she lives alone.
On April 21, one of the media outlets affiliated with the opposition said that Islamic militias began forming economic committees in their areas of occupation known as the “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” and “Spring of Peace” in northern Syria, with the aim of collecting royalties on Form of “taxes” from the people in those areas.
This outlet stated, that the beginning of the work of these committees that included gunmen was from Afrin called “the olive branch”, where these committees worked on counting the shops and imposing monthly sums ranging from 30 to 100 dollars monthly.
