Afrinpost – Special
The Afrinpost correspondent in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria said that the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to seize the properties of the indigenous people by armed force and coercion.
In the context, the reporter said that the called “Abu Bakri”, who comes from the village of Talalin in the Marea countryside, from the “Shamiya Front” militia, had sold a two-storey Kurdish house, belonging to the citizin Jamil Hassan, for 2,500 , for people from Saraqib, where the house is located in front of Furn Zad Al-Khair in Al-Ashrafieh.
A settler also bought a commercial store in the vicinity of the old recruitment division, belonging to the “Qalandar family” from the “Mobato / Ma’batli” district for 3500$, the buyer is from Idlib and he works as cloth seller. he bought the store from militia “ Sultan Murad ” . The militia of the Sultan Murad Brigade also sold an office at the entrance of the old recruitment division, for $ 1,500.
On February 5, the Afrinpost correspondent in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, North Syria, confirmed that the so-called “local council” of the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood had started selling the non-encased homes that are still not able to live in, For the newly arrived settlers from Idlib governorate and the western areas of Aleppo.
One of the owners of real estate offices in Afrin warned the settlers against the consequences of being dragged behind these operations, describing them as “obvious scams”, saying: “All houses possess papers and evidence confirming their ownership by the indigenous residents of Afrin, and therefore these sales are illegal, It is not proven in the courts of the Syrian state.
Continuing: “As long as the documents are not present, on what basis does the local council record sales operations, then what are the guarantees that the council provides to the buyer that the property remains for him, and what if the real property owner returns, what will the position of the council be?”
The sale of the local council and Brotherhood militias affiliated to the Turkish occupation real estate in Afrin, in conjunction with the escalation of military operations in Idlib, in addition to Afrin itself, where the bombing on February 4, the district center, resulted in the killing of a settler and the injury of 3 others, in addition to the injury of 3 children from The Kurdish indigenous people.
Observers point out that the small amounts that settlers buy real estate from the local council or armed men and that may not reach a quarter of the real price of the property, seem to have two main goals, the first of which is the desire of the occupation council and its members and Brotherhood militias to earn the largest possible amount of money from property and real estate That the indigenous Afrin Kurds had forcibly left behind, while being forcibly displaced from their territory.
It seems that the second objective is to search for some settlers for a residence in which they will permanently reside in Afrin, as long as the military occupation is in place, without being subjected to harassment by the militants, as the settlers themselves are in some cases subjected to harassment by the militants, and extortion in order to obtain funds and royalties.
Observers add that the situation in Afrin does not seem to maintain its condition for a long time, especially with the escalation of clashes between the forces of the regime and Russia on the one hand, and the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood militants on the other hand, which may open the door to the cause of liberating the region from the occupiers, And return it to its people soon.
