Afrinpost – Special
In the context of discussing the conditions of villages in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria, the correspondent of “Afrinpost” in the “Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid” side, prepared a report on the village of “Termisha”, in which he explained the conditions of the village after its occupation by the Islamic militias of the Turkish occupation and the organization Muslim Brotherhood.
The village is occupied by a militia called the “132nd Division”, which is based in Brimja Village, and is led by the so-called “Abu Tarab”, who is from “Minig” in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
The main headquarters of the militants is located at the entrance to the village, besides the presence of a large headquarters of the Turkish occupation army, 2 km on the road to the village of Aranda, near the archaeological religious site and shrine (Safar Dada), in addition to another Turkish site, 5 km in the mountain overlooking the “Shieh”/Sheikh Al-Hadid, ” which is called” Sirta Bayraqa “, and it was previously a training camp for” People’s Protection Units “.
The village consists of approximately 300 houses, and the approximate number of residents who were residents of the village, along with those residing in the rest of the Syrian cities, is about 3000 people.
After the Turkish military occupation, approximately 75 families returned to the village, where nearly 15 houses in the village witnessed total or partial destruction due to the bombing by the Turkish occupation planes, or bulldozing and subsequently detonating them by the militants, in search of antiquities.
The houses that were destroyed are owned by: Amin Ahmed Hamdko, Hassan Tato, Hussein Bakr Rashid, Muhammad Bakr Hussain, Karim Moso, Adnan Aziz Hassan, Idris Zaki Qarah Haso, Khalil Akash, Adnan Waleiko, Muhammad Othman Hassan, Amin Tossi, Omar Akash Ali Hassan Gouleen, Nuri Hussain.
It is known that the village contains an archaeological area extending thousands of years BC and the site is called (Razi Khraba), where mosaic paintings of the peacock and other birds were found, and they were transported and stolen by the gunmen.
Regarding settlement and forced displacement, more than two thirds of the village are still displaced, and most of them settled in Al-Shahba areas. No settler families lived in the village until the beginning of January, when nearly 25 settler families were brought in and settled from Idlib.
As for the property of the displaced, it is managed by their relatives residing in the village, and there is no property of high value in the village, because the village is located in a mountainous area and is known to be a poor village.
In the context of violations by settlers and armed men and their aggressions on the environment, the forest trees surrounding the village were subjected to numerous attacks and damage as a result of cutting and converting them into firewood and selling them or using them for heating.
Among them is the perennial pine tree more than a hundred years old, which was located at the site of the ancient cemetery in the lower lane of the village known as (Markha Nuri), where it was cut down days ago by the settlers, while the village mosque and school were not damaged.
Since the Turkish occupation, nearly 40 people have been kidnapped from the village, on charges of dealing with and belonging to the previous administration, including a number of women over the age of 60, of varying lengths, as most of them have been released except for nearly 5 people whose fate remains unknown. Some of them are close to two years since the early days of the Turkish aggression against the Kurdish region.
