The Syrian conflict has left tens of thousands of victims behind, along the Syrian geography. Perhaps death, which was never satisfied, takes the pleasure of harvesting lives of the Syrians, as it comes to them from the sky on board warplanes or appears from the ground as a war mine, according to a report of the Union website Press, touched on the mines claimed the lives of the displaced from the Kurdish region of Afrin occupied by the Turkish occupation and Islamic militias of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Where, in a year and a half, ISIS mines destroyed more than 119 civilians from the people of Afrin who were forcibly displaced by the Shahba, including 41 who lost their lives, and others with special needs.
After being displaced and spread in most villages and regions, Afrin residents were forced to live in semi-destroyed homes and other places where “ISIS” used to live, which made detonation of these mines their share, after they fled the Turkish war to clash with ISIS’s remains of explosives and mines.
The Kurdish Red Crescent reports that 199 people were injured by ISIS mines in the area, 41 of whom lost their lives, and the risks of mines still surround those who have been displaced from Afrin, in light of the presence of mines on agricultural lands and semi-destroyed houses resulting from the conflict of the Syrian government and opposition factions Armed in Shahba.
The administrative member of the Kurdish Red Crescent said, “Dhamat Ahmad” who said, “After the people of Afrin went out injustice and cruelty from their homes, we faced many problems and difficulties in Al-Shahba, most of them were in terms of mines, and more than 39 civilians with special needs became lost after they lost members of their body from Leg, hand, eye and more.
“Dhamhat” stressed that “the most civilians who lost their lives affected by mine were the result of the lack of the necessary capabilities of medicines and medical equipment that contribute to treating the wounded and the capabilities are limited to first aid.”
“Dhamhat” had ended his speech by noting that “the Kurdish Red Crescent points in Al-Shahba from time to time receive many cases of mine explosions, but the health staff in the area cannot provide assistance to them, and we appeal to the authorities concerned to provide the people of the region with equipment and medical drugs.”
