“Abu Osama al-Shami” of ISIS in the ranks of militias “National Army” moves from Afrin to Tal Abyad

A report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed on Friday the presence of members of the terrorist organization ISIS in the ranks of the Islamic militias of the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Observatory said that it had received information that “a number of elements fighting in the ranks of the Syrian National Army supported by Turkey, were formerly within the ranks of the Islamic State”, explaining that the fighters have changed their names and “moved to the fighting in the ranks of the National Army,” Among them, the Observatory mentioned only the initials of its name and said it was nicknamed “Abu Osama al-Shami.”

He said that the man “was born in Damascus in 1993 and joined Jabhat al-Nusra in 2012 in Damascus Ghouta, then pledged allegiance to IS in 2014 and fought in his ranks in Ghouta Damascus and the countryside of Sweida.”

It quoted reliable sources as saying that “Abu Osama al-Shami” moved in 2016 to the field of foreign security in wilayet of Damascus, then went to Idlib in 2017 and got a military course in Turkey.

After the completion of the course, he returned, under his other name BGA, to “fight among the pro-Turkish factions in the operation of the “Olive Branch” launched by the Turkish forces and factions loyal to them on Afrin in January 2018.

The sources said the observatory, which he described as “reliable” that the terrorist is currently in Tel Abyad, where he works within the special forces in the faction of Hamzat in the operation of the “Spring of Peace.”

The Observatory stated that “Abu Osama al-Shami” was “one of the leaders of the Islamic State, before his name was changed and re-employment within the Syrian National Army.”

It is noteworthy that elements belonging to the brigade of the so-called “Syrian National Army” committed several violations against civilians during the recent operation, and videos have documented some of these violations.
