According to the weekly documentation report released by the (Yekiti) party in Syria, the Military Police militia in the town of Rajo arrested Kurdish citizen Mohammad Arif Barri, 60, from the town of Ba’dina, approximately one month ago. The militia accused him of having worked in construction for the previous Autonomous Administration. He was taken to the center in Afrin and remains in arbitrary detention at Marateh Central Prison.
On November 21, 2024, the Military Police militia checkpoint in the village of Trendeh, south of Afrin, detained two young men: Misto Hussein, 25, from the town of Basuta, and Bashar Dhahni Qassab, 23, from the village of Kabashin, who resides in the city of Afrin. They were reportedly charged with fabricated accusations, and it is believed that the real motive behind their arrest is financial extortion, as they come from well-off families.
This pattern of arbitrary arrests and detentions continues to raise concerns over human rights violations in the region, particularly under Turkish-backed militia control.
