On Thursday evening, October 24, Turkish forces stationed in the city of Marea launched a barrage of over 15 artillery and rocket shells targeting residential neighborhoods in Tel Soussin and areas surrounding the Sardem IDP camp, which shelters thousands of displaced people from occupied Afrin. The attack resulted in considerable damage to several civilian homes and scattered shrapnel throughout the camp, injuring a 65-year-old man, Ahmad Omar Ahmad, and causing panic among residents.
In response to this shelling, Afrin Liberation Forces targeted positions held by the Syrian National Army factions allied with Turkey in the villages of Kabashin, Baldaq, and Shawa in the al-Bab countryside, as well as in Khaldiyah and Anab in Sherawa, Afrin countryside. This escalation underscores ongoing tensions and the severe impact on civilians in the region.
