Militia Surrounds and Attacks Villagers, Leaving Injuries in Afrin

afrinpost-exclusive

According to our reporter, the militia of the “Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade – Al-Amshat” has surrounded the village of “Kaxrê/Yakhur” in the Ma’batli sub-district since yesterday morning, and cut off the roads and the internet network, in an attempt to strengthen its control over the village and prevent its residents from communicating and delivering their voices.

This comes after a demonstration by Kurdish men and women of the village, refusing to pay a tribute of $8 on every olive tree of the displaced residents of the village, which is managed by their relatives, for this year’s season. The “Al-Amshat” militia recently imposed this tribute, except for that which will be imposed in kind on the oil production later from the entire village season.

The forces of “Suleiman Shah” led by the brother of Muhammad al-Jassem/Abu Amsha, the leader of the group, violently confronted the demonstration, using sticks and batons and shooting at the protesters, and arrested some of them.

Number of wounded were reported, including the two women “Najah Jabou and Jihan Isso”, without us being able to know the number of injuries, and whether there are other victims or not, due to the interruption of communication with the village and its surroundings. There are appeals from the villagers abroad on social media pages to save the remaining residents from the clutches of “Abu Amsha’s” violations and crimes.
