On Monday, August 19, 2024, Turkish forces carried out two suicide drone attacks targeting civilians in the village of Abbin, located in the Sherawa sub-district of Afrin. The civilians were attempting to assist a resident of Kafr Naya, in Al-Shahba region, who had been injured earlier in a separate drone strike on his vehicle.
Our correspondents reported that as villagers from Abbin rushed to the scene to aid the injured man, they were hit by a second suicide drone, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The wounded have been identified as Mustafa Rifaat Sheikho, 28, from Meydan Akbas; Youssef Al-Araj, 27, from Al-Ziyara village; and Haidar Mohammad, 45, from Abbin village. The injured were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.
