Our correspondent reported that on Friday, August 16th, Syrian National Army (SNA) militias arrested two brothers, Hytham Ali Ali, 41, and Rifaat Ali Ali, 36, from Jindires town, along with their cousin Rifaat Jamo, 45, from the village of Barad in Sherawa sub-district in Afrin. Two others, Mansour Ghowthani and Mohammed Ghowthani, both from Daraa, were also detained.

The three men had traveled from Aleppo to Azaz and were apprehended with the others at the Turkish border while attempting to cross it, allegedly seeking to migrate abroad through smugglers. The SNA militias have a notorious history of detaining civilians under such circumstances, often extorting their families for ransom in exchange for their release.
