Our correspondent has confirmed that the Military Police conducted a series of arrests on August 14, detaining eight individuals in connection with the recent car bomb explosion near the customs building on Rajo Street in Afrin. The blast, which occurred earlier this week, prompted a heavy-handed security response as authorities sought to identify those responsible.

Among the detained is Nuri Mustafa Hussein, a tailor from the village of Qastal Khadriya. Hussein was apprehended from his family home near the explosion site, despite being a victim of the attack himself—his parked Jeep was severely damaged by shrapnel from the blast.

Other known detainees include Abdo Mustafa Ahmed, a resident of Kotana village, and Luqman Sido, 38, from Rajo. The identities of the remaining detainees have yet to be disclosed. Knowing that the Military Police continue to cordon off the area, raising concerns about the broader implications of these arrests on the local community.
