Our correspondent reported that yesterday, a “Border Guard” militia arrested 30-year-old Mohammad Abdo Abdo, a resident of Shekhorze village in Bulbul sub-district, Afrin.
Abdo was detained near the border village of Bikeh while attempting to cross into Turkey to seek asylum abroad. The incident highlights a pattern of extortion by Syrian National Army militias, who routinely detain border-crossers and demand ransom from their families in exchange for their release.
