Widespread Theft of Sumac and Fruit Crops in Afrin

Our correspondent reports that there has been widespread theft of sumac crops in the Mobato/Ma’batli sub-district by IDPs, both armed and civilian.

The stolen crops belong to citizens including Jamil Omar, Muhammad Omar, and Muhammad Mustafa from the village of Dargir, Mahmoud Hassan, Alifa Muhammad, Sadiqa Khalil, and Taher Muhammad from the village of Hisê/Mirkan, Mustafa Ibrahim, Hassan Shabo, and Khalid Hussein from the village of Brimja, and Hytham Muhammad, Ahmed Ali, and Muhammad Ali from the town of Kakhreh\Kakhur, as well as Ahmed Mustafa from the village of Shitka.

Additionally, fields of pears and apples owned by Muhammad Batal, Ahmed Misto, Muhammad Misto, Khalid Zaki, Nadhir Othman, and Abdo Shamo in the town of Basuta and the village of Burj Abdalo in the Sherawa sub-district have also been subjected to theft in recent days.

Furthermore, armed men have recently stolen three inverters from solar power systems used to operate submersible water pumps in the agricultural fields of the village of Burj Abdalo.
