afrinpost – Exclusive

Our correspondent reports that the “Military Police in Afrin,” under orders from Turkish intelligence, arrested Mohammad Saeed Omar, 43, on the evening of July 16th. Omar, a resident of Khalner village west of Afrin city, was detained after returning from Lebanon and demanding the restoration of his seized home, which is currently occupied by an IDP from southern Aleppo and a member of the “Sultan Murad Division” militia.

The house is located on the street opposite Suleiman al-Halabi School in Afrin. Omar’s arrest highlights ongoing tensions in the region as returning residents face challenges reclaiming their properties.

In a related incident, on July 16th, the “Military Police” in Bulbul detained Jiwan Abdul Hanan Suleiman, 35, from the village of Ain Hajar in the Mobato/Maabatli sub-district. Suleiman was apprehended by border guards from the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia on charges of prior involvement with the Autonomous Administration and its institutions. He was later transferred to the “Military Police” center in Bulbul.
