Sultan Suleiman Shah Militia Imposes Levies on Absent Kurds’ Olive Trees

afrinpost-Exclusive

According to our sources, the Sultan Suleiman Shah militia, led by Mohamed Hussein Al-Jassim (also known as Abu Amsha), held a meeting yesterday with the mukhtars (village chiefs) of Anqala and Sanara in the Sheikh Al-Hadid\Şiyê sub-district. They were informed of a new levy of $15 per olive tree on fields belonging to displaced and expatriate Kurdish citizens.

The militia demanded immediate payment, threatening severe consequences for non-compliance and warning that the levy would double if delayed until the olive harvest season. The representative of Abu Amsha asserted that the militia reserves the right to “manage the olive fields of absent owners.”

A similar meeting was held with the mukhtars of Sheikh Al-Hadid and surrounding villages, who were also ordered to collect the $15 per tree levy from fields owned by displaced and expatriate Kurds within a week, under threat of punitive measures.

Abu Amsha and his militia continue their violations and crimes unabated, disregarding U.S. sanctions and operating with the protection and guidance of the Turkish Justice and Development Party and Turkish intelligence.
