A group of armed individuals in a civilian vehicle ran over a Kurdish man in Jindires, Afrin, early Sunday morning, May 19, 2024, in an attempt to rob him, according to surveillance footage from a city alleyway.
According to a local source, the victim, Mohamed Hamo Khorshid, a man in his sixties from the village of Koran and a resident of Jindires, was on his way to the currency exchange shop where he works when the incident occurred.
The source confirmed that Khorshid suffered serious injuries and fractures and is now under intensive care in a local hospital.
Residents of the area frequently face attacks from armed individuals and IDPs in a systematic campaign by Turkish authorities aimed at driving them out and achieving complete demographic change in favor of those brought from de-escalation zones per the Astana agreements.
