According to our reporter in Afrin, the militant “Abu Bakr al-Tadmuri,” associated with the “Ahrar Al-Sham Movement” militia, is demanding $10,000 USD from the rightful owners of a building comprising residential apartments and commercial shops. This demand comes despite him and his cousins forcefully seizing the building six years ago without paying any rent. He is returning it to Kurdish citizens, with four apartments allocated to “Abdo Mohammed” from Khalnir village, one apartment each for “Ahmed Ibrahim from Brimja village, Rafat Ali from Araba village, Ahmed Sheikho from Qasim village, Mohammad Horo from Sheikhourz village, Ahmed Hanan from Avraz village,” and four shops for “Mustafa Ahmed” from Maamla village.
Moreover, “Abu Abdou al-Hamwi,” another militia member, recently facilitated the sale of a house owned by Kurdish citizen “Nazlia Hameed” from Baraj Al-Qas village in Sherawa sub-district. The property, located in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood of Afrin city, was sold for $900 to an IDP from the city of “Qaratin” in Homs. These actions highlight the exploitation and disregard for property rights perpetrated by Turkish-backed militia members in the region.
