Recent days have witnessed a surge in property theft and illicit sales of homes forcefully seized from their rightful Kurdish owners in Afrin, amid complicity between Turkish authorities and the armed assailants and their IDP accomplices.
According to our sources in the city, an IDP from Deir ez-Zor sold the house of citizen Jihad Moussa, from the village of Maydana in the Rajo district, to another IDP from Idlib for $4,000. The house is located on Cultural Center Street in the city of Afrin.
Another IDP from Homs, previously affiliated with the “Al-Muatasim” militia, sold the house of citizen Rashid Hannan from the village of Qasem in Rajo to another IDP for $1,000. The house is situated south of the industrial area near the Al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood.
Meanwhile, an IDP from Aleppo refuses to vacate the house of citizen Amina Mohammed from the village of Ma’amlah near Al-Qaban Roundabout, demanding $2,000 under the pretext of having purchased the house from a militia member belonging to the “Al-Jabha al-Shamiya” before their expulsion from the city.
In addition to these incidents, multiple thefts occurred yesterday, April 19th, in the occupied city of Afrin. Two motorcycles belonging to IDPs, one from Damascus and the other from Hama, were stolen in front of a mosque near Kawa Roundabout.
Furthermore, thieves looted most of the contents of a grocery store and a sum of 3,000 Turkish lira owned by citizen Fawaz Al-Ali from the village of Kokaba in Jindires, located in Al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood.
Additionally, what remained of the contents of a water station, including doors, windows, solar panels, and a water tank, was stolen in the village of Terenda south of Afrin city.
