Turkish Forces Arrest Three Civilians in Rajo, Afrin

Local sources reported that, on January 14, Turkish forces arrested citizens “Rihana Muhammad Yousef, Ali Mahmoud Suleiman, and Fatima Muhammad Suleiman” after raiding their homes in the village of Kolyan Tahtanee – Rajo district. They were taken to Rajo town’s prison on charges of association with the former Autonomous Administration in Afrin.

It is worth noting that two daughters of the “Suleiman” family, the sisters “Zainab” (21 years old) and “Haneefa” (20 years old), were arrested on December 29, 2023, on charges of association with the former Autonomous Administration. They remain arbitrarily detained, even though they were minors at the beginning of 2018 and before.

afrinpost has documented 15 cases of arrest and abduction since the beginning of January 2024 until the sixteenth day, including 3 women and 2 children. One Kurdish citizen was also arrested on Turkish soil. Nine detainees were transferred from the occupied Afrin region to Turkish territories. Additionally, four cases of release have been documented.
