Teenager Dies After Brutal Turkish Border Guard Assault

In a heart-wrenching incident, the underage youth, Khaled Ahmed Fakhri Al-Saleh (16 years old) from the town of Hayaleen in the Hama countryside, passed away on January 21 at a hospital in Babelah, Idlib province. He succumbed to injuries inflicted during torture by Turkish border guards while attempting to enter Turkish territory through smuggling routes.

On January 13, Turkish border guards brutally beat Khaled, throwing him into a water pit and leaving him there for several hours. Subsequently, they tossed him back into Syrian territory. Locals rescued him and transferred him to a hospital in Babelah, Idlib.

The tragic incident sheds light on the harsh realities faced by individuals attempting to cross borders, exposing them to severe mistreatment and violence.
