Militia Collects Over $60,000 by Revoking Olive Tree Deeds in Jindires, Afrin

Our correspondent in Afrin reported that the “Samarkand” militia has imposed a financial tribute ranging from $2.5 to $3 on each olive tree after revoking their deeds in the village of Kafr Safra in the occupied Jindires sub-district of Afrin.

The militia controls approximately 25,000 olive trees in the village of Kafr Safra, which has allowed them to collect over $60,000 from the tribute they imposed on Kurdish farmers. Additionally, they have control over thousands of olive trees in the villages of Dala, Ruta, Haj Hasanah, Tatara, and the surrounding villages in the Mobata and Jindires sub-districts.

Furthermore, they levy a 7% in-kind tribute on Kurdish farmers when they bring their harvest to the press, in addition to imposing a tribute under the label of “guardianship” starting at $50 per month.

It is worth noting that the economic bureau affiliated with the “Samarkand” militia revoked a significant portion of land deeds in the villages under its control in the Mobata and Jindires sub-districts a week ago, and imposed a financial tribute of $2.5 on each olive tree for the remaining deeds.
