Sources from Afrin indicate that armed individuals and IDPs are involved in the unauthorized sale of three houses they had previously seized in illegal transactions. Others demand significant sums for vacating and returning the houses to their rightful owners in the occupied city of Afrin.

In detail, an IDP originally from Douma in the Damascus countryside sold two houses located near the Bilal Mosque in al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood of occupied Afrin to an IDP named “Abu Jabir al-Qalamouni” for $850 each. The latter then rented them for his personal use.

The ownership of these two houses belongs to the citizens “Ali Muhammad” and “Mufid Muhammad” from the village of Quba in the Rajo subdistrict.

Additionally, a member of the “Sultan Murad” militia, originally from the Idlib countryside and known as “Qutaiba,” sold the house of citizen “Osman Muhammad” from the village of Qantarah in the Mobata subdistrict, located in the old neighborhood of Afrin, for $1,200.

On another note, a member affiliated with the “Hamza/ Hamzat” brigade demands $2,000 to hand over a house he has occupied in al-Ashrafiyah neighborhood. It’s worth noting that he initially rented the house for 200 Turkish Lira per month from its original owner, citizen “Rashid Jafar” from the village of Ma’mla in the Rajo subdistrict. The IDP then decided to build a residential building on the property and requested the armed individual to vacate the house. However, the latter refuses to leave without receiving $2,000.
