A correspondent for Afrin Post reports that armed members of Turkish-backed militia groups persist in the illicit trade of properties belonging to the original Kurdish inhabitants of Afrin. On September 16th, two houses were sold, and a motorcycle was stolen amidst the ongoing violations and assaults in the occupied Afrin region.

In detail, a member affiliated with the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia sold a seized house to an IDP originally from Eastern Ghouta, Damascus, for a sum of $2,000. The ownership of the house originally belonged to citizen “Salah Isa” from the village of Marateh, located behind the Dersim Hospital on al-Vellat Street in the occupied city of Afrin.

Furthermore, a member associated with the “Al-Hamza/Al-Hamzat” militia named “Ahmed Sarij” sold a seized house to an IDP originally from Idlib for $900. The house originally belonged to citizen “Mohammed Hannan” from the Mobata sub-district and is situated at the Al-Qabban roundabout in the city of Afrin.

In another incident, a motorcycle belonging to citizen “Idris Mohammed” from the village of Khalnereh was stolen in al-Mahmudiya neighborhood of the occupied city of Afrin.
