On September 16th, the Syrian regime’s army targeted the Turkish forces base at the Scientific Research Center on the outskirts of the northern Aleppo city of Azaz. As of now, there is no information available regarding casualties resulting from the attack.
This artillery shelling was in response to Turkish forces targeting the vicinity of the village of Maranaz in the Sherawa/Sheran sub-district and the surroundings of the city of Tell Rifaat in the northern Aleppo countryside.
In a related development, sporadic clashes broke out involving heavy and medium machine gunfire between the Afrin Liberation Forces and the Syrian National Army militias along the Kafr Khashir axis in the northern Aleppo countryside. However, there is no information available regarding the extent of the damage caused by these clashes.
