Turkish Authorities Detain Kurdish Youth after Forced Deportation

afrinpost-Exclusive

Our reporter in Afrin indicated that Turkish authorities have arrested a young Kurdish man following his deportation from Turkish territory. He was slapped with a fine as a condition for his release, while an IDP continues to occupy his house in the occupied city of Afrin.

Details reveal that Turkish authorities deported the young man, “Mazloum Manan” (24 years old), originally from the village of Hasandira in the Bulbul subdistrict. Upon his arrival at the Bab al-Salameh crossing in A’zaz, the military police militia apprehended him and forced him to pay a fine of $800 in exchange for his release.

Upon his release from the A’zaz prison nearly a month ago, he headed to his parents’ home, which was forcibly occupied by an IDP from Aleppo. The IDP has refused to vacate the house located in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood of the occupied city of Afrin.

Currently, “Mazloum Manan” is staying with acquaintances in Afrin city, with no apparent recourse to regain his home, as filing a complaint against the IDP with Turkish authorities seems futile.
