According to our sources, on July 19th, the Turkish forces apprehended “Mohammed Abdulrahman Hannan” (37 years old) more than two months ago, accusing him of collaborating with the previous Autonomous Administration in occupied Afrin.

Mr. Mohammed, a resident of Kurzileh village in the central district of Afrin, returned from Aleppo two months ago and paid $4,000 to a militant group led by “Oso” to reclaim his house in Afrin city. However, shortly after his return, he was falsely charged with affiliating with the former administration and subsequently arrested by the military police militia.

“afrinpost” has documented 14 cases of detention and abduction since the beginning of July, up to July 16th, including 11 instances affecting residents of Afrin. Among these cases, one detention occurred at a checkpoint belonging to the Syrian government forces. Additionally, five cases of release have been documented, which includes individuals previously detained, as well as one reported case of a missing person.
