Our correspondent reported that an armed group has abducted Lqman Nouri Qadur, a 50-year-old resident of Musanka village in the central district of Afrin. The incident took place on July 6 in Al-Mahmudiya neighborhood of the occupied city of Afrin. The reasons for his abduction and the identity of the group responsible remain unknown.
During the month of June 2023, 60 cases of arrests and abductions including 4 women were documented. Additionally, 50 cases of release have been documented, including previous arrests, along with one case of a missing person.
The arrest operations are often arbitrary, with individuals being detained at security checkpoints or through violent raids accompanied by thorough house searches and humiliation of the residents. The charges are mostly baseless and revolve around alleged affiliations with the previous Autonomous Administration or accusations of collaboration with Kurdish military entities
