Al-Bukhamis Tribe Demands Immediate Arrest of Militia Leader Linked to Assassination in Afrin

afrinpost– Exclusive

Yesterday, on July 19th, armed individuals from the Al-Bukhamis tribe issued a recorded statement, urging the military judiciary to take swift action and arrest one of the leaders of the “Sultan Selim Shah / Al-Amshat Brigade” militia, known as “Qusay Abdul Majid Qasum Al-Janoudi,” also known as “Abu Watan.” He is directly implicated in the assassination of the former leader in the “Al-Amshat” militia, “Abu Rasha,” in Jindires sub-district, in the occupied Afrin region.

According to the statement, “Abu Watan” lured the victim, “Abu Rasha,” by pretending that his car had broken down at the entrance of Jindires district. When “Abu Rasha” arrived at the location, he was surprised by a patrol belonging to the “Al-Amshat” militia, which included four members, who opened fire on him.

Thinking that “Abu Rasha” was dead, the “Al-Amshat” militia members transferred him to the military hospital in Afrin. However, “Abu Rasha” managed to provide the details of the incident to the doctor before his death. The doctor, in turn, shared all the information with “Abu Rasha’s” relatives.

In light of these events, members of the Al-Bukhamis tribe demanded the military judiciary to take immediate action to arrest those involved in the assassination, setting a 72-hour deadline for the apprehension of the suspects. They issued warnings of dire consequences if the suspects are not apprehended.

It’s important to note that the “Al-Amshat” militia, under the leadership of “Abu Amsha,” had previously targeted and assassinated one of its former leaders, “Ammar Mohammed Al-Omar,” known as “Abu Rasha,” on July 17th. His body was found near the Jindires road in the occupied Afrin region.
