National Army Militias Withdraw from Villages in Northern Aleppo Countryside

afrinpost– Exclusive

Sources from Afrin city have confirmed that the militias of the “Syrian National Army” have begun to move and evacuate their military positions in the villages of Kafr Jannah, Kafr Mazza, Maryamin, Maarskeh, and head towards the frontlines with the Shahba region in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The sources added that there is a state of confusion among the IDPs following the circulation of news on websites and news channels affiliated with armed militias about an imminent military operation in northern Syria.

These websites and pages also circulated news about the Turkey’s intention to hand over the Bab al-Salama border crossing in the countryside of Azaz to the Russian police and the Turkish army, and to initiate joint patrols.

These movements by the Turkish-affiliated SNA militias coincide with the reinforcement of the Syrian regime army yesterday, June 19, in its positions in the northern countryside of Aleppo. This reinforcement included the deployment of forces from the Third Division, along with tanks, armored vehicles, and heavy artillery to the Shahba area and the Sherawa subdistrict, as well as the deployment of missile platforms and heavy artillery in the villages of Tel Jabin and Maarskeh Khan in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
