In the occupied region of Afrin, incidents of theft and illicit property sales by armed IDPs and their relatives persist, causing immense distress among the Kurdish population.

In a concerning development, an IDP originally from Ghouta, Damascus, has sold four apartments/houses located in the Al-Hakim building on Terenda Road in occupied Afrin to three IDPs originating from the Qalamoun region. The transaction took place at a rate of one thousand dollars per apartment. These properties rightfully belong to Mohammed Musa, a resident of the village of Mydana in the Rajo sub-district.

In a separate incident, a motorcycle belonging to Hamouda Ali was stolen yesterday morning, June 24th, from in front of his store in occupied Afrin.

Furthermore, an IDP from Hama unlawfully entered and looted the house of his Kurdish neighbor, Jihad Hussein, who hails from the village of Terenda. This theft occurred on the southern outskirts of Afrin city while Jihad and his family were away on June 23rd. The IDP made off with the majority of the household contents, fleeing towards an unknown destination.
