Yesterday, on May 17th, members of a patrol affiliated with the Civil Police militia detained three women (a mother and her two daughters) during a raid on five tents they were residing in within the courtyard of a house along the Kafr Kalbin road in the occupied town of Azaz.
According to our correspondent, the patrol members assaulted the women, resorting to violence due to their resistance, and forcibly took them to the Civil Police station in Azaz. This action was intended to pressure their older brother into vacating the house they were living in, as the property is claimed by a member of the regime who currently resides in Aleppo.
Our correspondent explained that the house raid and the detention of the women were reminiscent of gang-like tactics, carried out under direct orders from a leader in the “Shuhada Gathering” militia, known as “Abu Salah Kano.” Despite all the pleas from the locals, he refused to release the women unless the house was vacated, making it a crucial condition for their freedom.
The women were eventually released late at night. It is worth noting that the house was destroyed during the earthquake that struck the region on February 6, 2023, and the family had set up tents within the house yard beside the destroyed parts of the house.
