Afrin, Syria – Armed groups affiliated with Turkish-backed militants and their IDPs allies continue to seize properties owned by the original Kurdish residents with impunity, in collusion with Turkish authorities and their security apparatus in the occupied Afrin region.

According to our reporter in Afrin, an IDP from the Eastern Ghouta in the Damascus countryside took over a property of 450 square meters located in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood at the entrance to the industrial area in the occupied city of Afrin.

The reporter added that the IDP has built small houses, each covering an area of 60 square meters, and is now selling them for $1,500, although the property ownership belongs to the forcibly displaced citizen “Jawhar Hassan.”

It should be noted that IDPs affiliated with the armed group “Suleiman Shah / Al-Amshat” previously seized a real estate property belonging to the family of “Osman Agha” from the village of Kurzêlê, near the bazaar square in the occupied city of Afrin on January 30, 2023. The IDP have begun construction work on the property, including leveling the ground with bulldozers, paving it with gravel, and erecting barriers around it.
