According to local sources, the General Security Agency of the “Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham” organization has taken advantage of the situation by setting up more than a hundred fake camps near the former headquarters of the “Jaish al-Islam” militia, with the aim of obtaining as many relief baskets as possible.
Meanwhile, activists close to the Turkish-backed militias have been circulating video footage showing the militias and committees formed by them removing tents in the Jindires district, in the occupied Afrin countryside, after staging representation videos for international entities about delivering aid to the earthquake victims.
Humanitarian organizations have been accused of exploiting the conditions of the earthquake victims and stealing aid, as there are still many families in the open and without shelter in the villages of the occupied Jindires sub-district. Our sources have confirmed the theft of aid and the ongoing struggles of the affected families.
The situation in Afrin remains unstable, with reports of ongoing security chaos and fraud, which are causing further harm to the already affected population. The international community is being urged to take action to address the situation and provide assistance to the earthquake victims.
