A five-story residential building collapsed in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo today, January 22, killing 17 persons of displaced people of Afrin and wounding 4 other, our reporter in Aleppo said.
Among the victims were: The children: Youssef Ja’rour (two and a half years), Hamida Ja’rour (8 years), Jamal Ja’rour (7 years), and the elderly Radwan Muhammad (55 years), in addition to Radwan Abu Na’im and his wife Zainab.
Our reporter indicated that rescuers were still searching for survivors from among the rubble using bulldozers to expedite the search operations.
The collapsed building consisted of five floors containing 15 apartments, the fourth and fifth floors of which were uninhabited, while it is reported that about 30 people lived in the building, including women and children.
