Our reporter in Afrin stated that the Turkish intelligence arrested a Kurdish man upon his return from Aleppo, while the Turkish-backed “Suleiman Shah / Al-Amshat” militia kidnapped five others with intent to extort money.
In the details, the reporter said that the Turkish intelligence arrested the citizen “Abdo Muhammad Jamil,” who is from the village of Kafarziet in Afrin, after his return from Aleppo without knowing the charges against him.
On December 20, 2022, members of the Turkish-supported “Al-Amshat” militia kidnapped five citizens in Mobata district, on charges of going out in night watch shifts during the former Autonomous Administration in the occupied Afrin region.
The kidnapped are namely: “Othman Muhammad Mesto” (53 years old), “Muhammad Amin Shabo” (55 years old), “Muhammad Abdul Qadir Aliko” (49 years old), and “Rashid Sino.” (49 years old), and they are from the village of Hisseh / Merkan, in addition to the kidnapping of the citizen “Abdo Khalil Jabo” from the village of Kakhreh, with the aim of blackmailing them and extort money from their families, according to our sources in the region.
The sources added that the militia initially stipulated a ransom of $500 for each one in exchange for their release, and as they could not pay the ransom, they reduced it to $300 for each of them.
