Faylaq Al-Sham militants cut down 80 olive trees and 8 almond trees in Barad village, Afrin

afrinpost – Exclusive

Militants belonging to Faylaq Al-Sham militia cut down on Thursday and Friday, December 16 and 15, 80 olive trees and eight almond trees near the village of Barad in Sherawa district, in the occupied countryside of Afrin, according to our sources in the village.

The trees belong to the citizen “Hamid Ali Jamo,” as his land is located near the line of contact with the areas controlled by the Syrian regime forces in the northern countryside of Aleppo, the sources added.

The aforementioned militia had cut down 25 fruitful almond trees in a field belonging to the Kurdish citizen, “Nuri Ahmed Musa,” from the village of Chaqmaqa (Al-Sawan Al-Kabeer) in Raju district.

The logging of fruitful trees (specially olive trees), forests, and coniferous forests increases throughout the occupied Afrin region rapidly and on a vast scale, contrary to what is being promoted by the pro-Turkey and its militias media outlets, which claim in their reports that cutting firewood is a source of livelihood for civilians!
