Grape leaves theft and overgrazing by militia-backed IDPs in Bulbul, Afrin

afrinpost – Special

Today, Sunday, our reporter in Afrin said that IDPs stole grape leaves from the vineyards located around the villages of Bibaka and Khalilaka in Bulbul district. One of the owners of the vineyards is the citizen “Karam Muhammad Nazmi” from the village of Khalilaka, and the citizen “Ahmed Muhammad Dalu” from The people of Bibaka village.

“The militia-supported IDP shepherds are also tending their livestock within the vineyards, which causes great damage to the grape leaves (one of the important sources of income for the people of Afrin).” The reporter added.

This month, our reporters monitored a number of attacks on the private property of the people, among which when IDPs in the villages of Zivige and Ashouneh tended their sheep among the vineyards, and harvested and stole grape leaves, despite complaints submitted to the “Sultan Murad Division” militia that controls the two villages. .

It is worth noting that the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia kidnapped the citizens, “Rasheed Mannan,” 38, and “Aref Ashraf,” 40, from their homes in the village of Sewiya in Mobata district, on May 18, under the pretext of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration. However, the real reason behind their kidnapping is that the citizens have harvested grape leaves from the vineyards of their forcibly displaced relatives from the village, without returning to the militia that controls the property of the absent residents in the area.
