Our sources in Afrin reported that the citizen, “Mustafa Hassan” (35 years), from the village of Baedino – Rajo district, was forced to leave his home and agricultural machinery behind after he was subjected to severe harassment by members of the Turkish-backed “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, which pushed him to displacement and escape with his family towards the city of Aleppo.
The citizen “Mustafa” returned to his home in al-Mahmudiya neighborhood after the occupation of Afrin in March 2018, and worked as an employee in the local council in the city of Afrin. However, because of the harassment he was subjected to by the Abu Zayd group affiliated with the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, he left the council and was forced to work on an electric generator for free for them in order to protect himself and his family, but they accused him of theft and forced him the first time to pay a thousand dollars, and the second time 15 olive-oil tanks.
The third time, they pushed him to flee by sending one of the members of the “Sharqiya” called “Basil Jassem” to threat him and tell him to escape. This was a plan to seize the house, the agricultural tractor, the water tank and the rest of the agricultural tools that he had.
“When his father intervened and demanded that the militia return the house and the agricultural tractor, they kidnapped him and released him only two days later after forcing him to pay $500, accusing his son “Mustafa” of espionage, and threatening him if he filed a complaint or demanded them again for the house and other property.” the sources added.
