Pro-Tyrkey militias arrest 3 Kurds in Syria’s Afrin

The Turkish-backed “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia kidnapped the Kurdish citizen Shaaban Ahmed Rashid, 57 years old, on charges of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration (going on night watch shifts) and driving him to an unknown destination.

Our reporter explained that the real reason for his kidnapping is due to farming olive fields belonging to his relatives without obtaining permission from the militia.

According to our reporter, the pro-Turkey “military police” arrested, about 20 days ago (late last March), the citizen Muhammad Sami, 30 years old, and his brother Shiyar, 27, on charges of performing self-defense service during the previous Autonomous Administration period.

“The two brothers are from Qibar village, but they live in the vicinity of al-Ashrafieh Park and work in as motorcycle mechanics on Terenda Road.” the reporter added.

The Turkish authorities released “Shiyar” about a week after his arrest and paying a fine of 3,500 Turkish liras, while his brother Muhammad is still arrested on the pretext that he was a volunteer in the People’s Protection Units (YPG) at the time.
