Turkish authorities arrest 11 citizens of Ma’amla and Qestelê Xidriya villages in Afrin

In mid-October, the Turkish authorities in Afrin arrested a Kurdish woman from the village of Qestelê Xidriya of Bulbul sub-district , on the pretext that she appeared in a video on a Kurdish channel during the Turkish aggression on Afrin in 2018.

According to our sources, “the 46-year-old woman, Laila, was released after spending a week in a prison in the sub-district, and paying a fine.”

Meanwhile, the Turkish authorities continue to carry out arrests against residents of the village of Ma’mla of Rajo sub-district, according to pre-prepared lists containing the names of 90 citizens of the village.

“The pro-Turkey military police militia, in cooperation with the militia of “Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh” arrested on October 17, 2021, 9 citizens of the village of “Ma’mla”, on charges of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration, namely: Rashid Rashid Zibar/ 56 years old, Ahmed Mohamed Khalil Zibar/ 45 years old, Salah Ahmed Ibrahim/ 38 years old, Sabri Muhammad Faris/ 35 years old, Ismat Hassan Aluko/ 35 years old, and Hussein Mohamed Ibrahim/ 67 years old, and Qazqli Amin Faris/ 45 years old.”, according to a documentary report of the Kurdish Unity Party/ Yekiti.

“They were released after a day of detention in Rajo and a fine of 1,200 Turkish liras was imposed on each of them, to be supplemented to two thousand Turkish liras when the ruling is issued.” the report added.

On 11/10/2021, the Turkish authorities also arrested from the same village, “Mustafa Shawqi Muhammad/ 69 years old, Fawzi Hussein Othman/ 45 years old, Jaafar Jaafar Battal/ 40 years old, Ahmed Aref Zibar/ 45 years old, Ahmed Haider Jaafar / 55 years old, Mustafa Amin Fares / 40 years old, Ahmed Hussein Hamliko / 45 years old, Hassan Ibrahim Fares / 30 years old, Mustafa Muhammad Zibar, 45 years old, Farouk Mustafa Kilbaker / 35 years old, on charges of dealing with the former Autonomous Administration. Knowing that all of them were released after paying a ransom of 2000 lira.
