At least 26 killed and injured in car bomb in Syria’s Afrin

10 people were killed, and 16 others were wounded, including children, as a result of a car bomb explosion today, Monday, near the headquarters of the Turkish-backed Jaysh al-Islam militia, opposite Souq al-Hal, in the center of the Turkish-occupied city of Afrin.

According to our reporter, “the violent explosion that hit the city of Afrin with a booby-trapped “van” near Kawa roundabout, resulted in the death, according to an initial toll, of 10 people, including 4 civilians and 6 members of the “Military Police and Jaysh al-Islam” militias. The bodies of some of them were charred and others were turned to pieces.”

Among the dead was the so-called “Abu Khaled Selek,” one of the militants of the Jaish al-Islam militia, and he is from Damascus countryside.

The names of the injured are: 1- Zakaria Baslu 2- Muhammad Khalas 3- Tawfiq Mansour 4- Abd al-Hamid al-Youssef 5- Muhammad al-Helou(a militant of Al-Jabha al-Shamiya) 6- Mahmoud al-Sahar 7- Ramez Satouf 8- Ahmed Adnan 9- Muhammad Hassan Zamlat 10- Haider Rasoul 11- ​​Haji Hamid 12- Ahmed Muhammad Muhammad 13- Khaled Sheikh Hassan.

Our reporter indicated that the explosion caused destruction and great damage to the shops of Souq al-Hal and the Army of Islam headquarters, in addition to damaging a number of cars parked near the scene of the explosion. As a result of the explosion, the military police arrested two young “suspects” near the scene of the explosion and took them to an unknown destination.
