The elderly of Afrin, who are the largest segment returned to the land of fathers and grandfathers, are trying to cling to their homes and properties, in order to protect what remains of the spirit of authenticity rooted in the occupied Afrin region, despite the fierce campaigns targeting them by the Islamic militia militants affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization.

Uncle Hasan Haydar Habash, born in 1936, is one of those elderly people who returned to his hometown Baadina, after a bitter journey of displacement during the Turkish aggression, to find his bakery and the home of his eldest son completely destroyed by the Turkish bombing, but he refused to surrender and decided to rebuild what was destroyed.

According to afrinpost sources, Uncle Hassan erected the pillars and poured the roof to rebuild his bakery as it was in the past. However, the leader of the militia, “Major General Abdul Karim Jamal Qassum” that occupies the town, prevented him from completing the reconstruction, so the old man could do nothing but to pray to God to “hold the thieves accountable”, and he now stopped completing the construction work and waiting until the appropriate time came.

It is reported that Abd al-Karim Jamal Qassum, from the village of Kafr Batikh in Jabal al-Zawiya in Idlib, seizes the house of a forcibly displaced citizen in a village in Baadina, and leads a militia “the 112th Brigade.”

The so-called “Qassum”, from the money he earned from thefts, robbery and kidnapping, opened a number of commercial and industrial shops after seizing the buildings belonging to the townspeople, including the opening of an automated bakery, located in the Hamid Shukri mill building in the village of Baadina, as well as inaugurating an oven for the production of special lead Manufacturing batteries, in a building in the village of Khaziyana, in addition to an exchange and remittance center in Baadina village.

The so-called Abdul Karim has also forced the owners of four olive presses in the town of Baadina to sell him birine (Arjun olive), the quantity is about / 1500 / tons, and impose a price of / $ 30 / per ton, which is 10 dollars less than its real price.
