Afrinpost correspondents monitored the armed men of the “Suqour al-Sham” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization, harvesting and stealing the crop of 65 olive trees belonging to the Kurdish citizen “Abd al-Rahman Muhammad” in the village of “Darwish / Sharan,” even though he is in the village.
For its part, “Ahrar al-Sham” militia imposed on the people of the village of Goran in Jenderes sub-district, an in-kind royalty (olive oil), the amount of two oil containers, under the pretext that it protected crops from theft.
“Sultan Murad Division” militia, which occupies the areas between the villages of Qibari and the Ashrafieh neighborhood in the center of Afrin, also imposed an in-kind royalty (a container of olive oil) on the owners of the fields in that area, and also ask those who own 50 olive trees an amount of fifty US dollars.
In addition, a Kurdish citizen stated on the condition that his name not be published, that he witnessed that “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia and settlers from Eastern Ghouta cutting down dozens of olive trees in the villages of Ain Al-Hajar and Ster, confirming that the number of trees cut was nearly 30 trees.
The Kurdish citizen added, “I went a few days ago to the village of Ster, near the city of Afrin, and then I went along the same road and saw that about 50 trees were cut from the roots by the Ahrar al-Sharqiya militia as well.”
The citizen pointed out that the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia in particular is wreaking havoc in every place in which it is present to a greater degree than the rest of the existing militias.
