The Afrinpost correspondent at the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, northern Syria, said that the “Hamza” militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood organization, looted olive crops in a number of fields belonging to the people of the village of Marate in the center of the region.
He said that the looting had affected the fields of the Kurdish citizens: (Saeed Al-Ayoubi – Mustafa Al-Ayoubi – Seydou Bakr – Fawzi Haji – Fawzi Seedo – Ibrahim Sido – Bakr Seydou), stressing that the total of the stolen crop is estimated at 200 sacks of olives.
In addition, the militia imposed on the people of the village to pay 1000 containers of olive oil (each containing 16 kilograms), and also imposed on the village press to pay 150 container as a seasonal royalty.
According to a simple calculation, a group of 1150 oil container, each containing 16 kilograms, will reach more than 18,400 liters of pure olive oil, most of which is marketed through the occupation territories to European countries, to be sold at exorbitant prices, with nothing but a very little amount reaching the hands of Afrin people. While Ankara and its Brotherhood militias plunder most of the revenues of the seasons in Afrin.
In a related context, the Turkish occupation militias cut down 35 olive trees belonging to the Kurdish citizen Muhammad Khoja, who is from the town of “Mobata / Maabatli”, the field is located on the Afrin-Rajo roads.
It has become known that all seasons in Afrin are subject to theft, starting with olives, grapes, leaves, sumac and all fruit trees. Trees are also cut down and firewood is sold.
