Two people injured when a bomb was thrown at headquarters of militia in al-Ashrafieh, Afrin

Afrinpost correspondent in the center of the occupied Afrin region reported that the sound of a bomb explosion was heard late last Saturday night, followed by gunfire, in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, near the headquarters of the so-called “Oso” group affiliated with al-Shamiya Front militia. As a result, an armed militia member and a nine-year-old boy were wounded. As a military police militia patrol rushed to the headquarters.

The correspondent added that it is reported that the incident is related to an old story of revenge, dating back to the past year, and that the person who threw the bomb is the brother of a person who was killed last year by gunmen at the headquarters in Souq al-Hal, and that the targeted person is a cousin of the killer.

It is reported that violent clashes broke out in the Ashrafieh neighborhood between members of the Military Police militia and settlers of al-Ghouta, on Saturday evening 10/17/2020, in which heavy weapons were used and there were injuries on both sides. On the following day, a meeting was held at the security headquarters of the “al-Shamiya Front” militia in the vicinity of the Kawa roundabout to discuss the file of the Ghouta settlers’ weapons, attended by the leaders of armed groups affiliated with the “al-Shamiya” militia, namely (Yusef Kabbso, Nidal Bayanouni, Naim, Ahmed Adel and Ammar Oso).

The so-called “Muhammad al-Hamadeen (Abu Riyad), commander of the“ Military Police ”militia, asked the settlers of Ghouta to hand over their weapons, but the settler representatives refused to respond to the request, promising to receive the entire security file in the occupied Afrin region.
