The Occupation Court summons Kurdish citizens from Bremje to settle their status for the second time … with the aim of financial extortion

With the aim of further extortion, the security authorities inform Kurdish citizens in the village of Bremje of the need to settle their status, even though they had previously paid taxes to settle their status.

Afrinpost correspondent reported that the security authorities informed a group of young men in the village of Bremje of Mobata / Maabatli sub-district that they must pay the amount of 600 Turkish liras in exchange for settling their status.

The correspondent added that the group that was informed is from the first batch of those who settled their situation in exchange for paying a fine of 600 Turkish liras.

The settlement of the status is one of the most prominent methods of deception that the Turkish occupation authorities have used with Kurdish citizens who previously worked for “Autonomous Administration” institutions, by inviting them to surrender themselves to the civil court associated with the “Civil Police” militia, under the pretext of regularizing their legal status and obtaining a non-exposure document after paying a financial guarantee.

But the militias quickly demand that the citizens to come back again to settle the status again and pay new fines, and thus a number of citizens paid those fines several times, and a Kurdish citizen went to the court, with a decision to settle the status in the first half of last July, and he said that he had gone out in Guard Shifts (mandatory) within the framework of the Core Protection Forces (which are non-combat forces), so he was arrested for 3 days pending investigation, and he obtained a document proving that he had been subject to trial, and was released after paying a bail of 800 Turkish liras.

However, he was soon arrested by the “Civil Police” militia and demanded that he pay a tax of 400 Turkish liras. The citizen said that although he had obtained a document from the court, the “civilian police” militia patrols took turns to come to his home and demand a new financial guarantee.
