“Al-Hamzah” militia imposes royalty on vehicles crossing road in Afrin countryside

Crossing the road, another method followed by al-Hamzat militia, in the village of Guliyan.

Afrinpost correspondent reported that a checkpoint of the “al-Hamzat” militia militants in the village of Guliyan / Rajo district, takes ID cards from tractor drivers and cars loaded with olives or oil, and takes them to the headquarters in order to steal an oil can or an amount of money equivalent to the value of an oil can.

Knowing that all the militias imposed initial royalties to allow the citizens of Afrin to harvest their crops independent of the end-of-season tax, including al-Hamzat militia, which imposed a royalty of two dollars on each tree (more than 4,500 Syrian pounds) in the villages they control.

It is noteworthy that a security checkpoint belonging to the “Sultan Suleiman Shah Squad” militia in the district of ​​”Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid” imposes an additional in-kind royalty on cars and vehicles loaded with oil coming from the village’s olive press.

The correspondent added that the militia checkpoint takes two olive oil can from each vehicle (car or tractor) crossing the checkpoint, to be added to the total of other royalties imposed by al-Amshat militia on the villages under its occupation.

The website’s correspondent also learned from his sources that the “al-Shamiya Front” militia is marking olive trees by painting their stems red, and claims that their ownership belongs to members of the Democratic Union Party to justify their seizure, noting that it belongs to the displaced of those villages, and has asked the farmers in the villages of Qatma, Kfarjana and others by applying white paint on the trunks of their trees.
